197. Have one too many: to be drunk [quá chén; nhậu sai be bét]

Ví dụ: He had one too many, and now he's throwing up.

198. Be on the outs with someone: not friendly (usually said about people who are not friendly because of having had an argument or disagreement)[tẩy chay ai; cắt đứt mối quan hệ với ai; cãi nhau với ai].

Ví dụ: Peter is on the outs with his father.

(Peter cãi nhau với bố của nó)

199. A pain in the neck: (informal) a person or thing that is very annoying [ cái của nợ; gánh nặng không vứt bỏ được]

200. Grease someone’s palm: (old-fashioned, informal) to give somebody money in order to persuade them to do something dishonest [hối lộ; mua chuột; lót tay ai]

201. Get peanuts: (informal) peanuts means a very small amount of money [kiếm bạc cắt, lượm bạc lẻ; được trả công thấp]

203. Feel like a square peg in a round hole:  (British English, informal) a person who does not feel happy or comfortable in a particular situation, or who is not suitable for it [ cảm thấy không phù hợp với công việc đang làm; có khả năng và tính cách không phù hợp với tình huống đang diễn ra]

Ví dụ:  I feel like a square peg in a round hole at my office.

(Tôi cảm thấy không thích thú với công việc hiện tại)

204. Pinch pennies:  (informal) to try to spend as little money as possible [tiết kiệm tối đa; cóp nhặt từng đồng từng cắc]

205. Rob Peter to pay Paul: (saying) to borrow money from one person to pay back what you owe to another person; to take money from one thing to use for something else [lấy của người này đem cho người khác; lấy chỗ này bỏ vào chỗ khác]

Ví dụ: There's no point in robbing Peter to pay Paul. You will still be in debt.

206. Be no panic: do not need to rush [trong tình trạng khó khăn hay phiền phức; không phải là chuyện đùa]

Ví dụ: There's no panic, we've got plenty of time.

207. Sugar/ sweaten the pill: to do something that makes an unpleasant situation seem less unpleasant [bọc đường viên thuốc đắng; che giấu sự thật khó khăn bằng vẻ bên ngoài hào nhoáng]

(to be) very anxious or excited while you are waiting to find out something or see what will happen [có cảm giác bứt rứt, khó chịu; như đang ngồi trên đống lửa]

Ví dụ:  We're on pins and needles waiting to hear whether she got the job.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it: an impolite way of telling someone that they must accept what you have just said even if they do not like it, See how you like that!; It is final, and you have to live with it [ phải chấp nhận những gì người khác nói dù muốn hay không; hãy ngẫm nghĩ cho kỹ mà nhớ đời điều đó]

Ví dụ: Well, I'm going anyway, so put that in your pipe and smoke it!

210. Play up to someone: to flatter someone; to try to gain influence with someone. [nịt hót, tâng bốc ai; tìm cách làm ai vừa lòng]

Ví dụ: It won't do any good to play up to me. I refuse to agree to your proposal.

211. Take the plunge: to do something important or difficult that you have been thinking about doing for a long time [quyết tâm hành động; lao vào làm điều nguy hiểm; liều thử một phen]

Ví dụ: I've decided to take the plunge and start up my own business.
